- University of Florida
Kirstin Rasmussen, DMD
As a second generation dentist, Dr. Kirstin Rasmussen is proud to return home to her native Tampa to continue her practice in general dentistry. She was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, having graduated from Academy of the Holy Names high school. She continued her education at the University of Florida where she completed a degree in Biology with a minor in English Literature. She stayed at the University of Florida to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine, graduating in the top quarter of her class in 2014. While at UF College of Dentistry she received the prestigious Quintessence Award for Excellence in Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Rasmussen pursued an additional year of training completing a general practice residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Her additional year of training allowed Dr. Rasmussen to perfect her technique and further her education working alongside specialists in the areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, and periodontics, in addition to anesthesia training and general and emergency medicine. This advanced training, pursued by a select number of dentists, allows her to provide the best care possible to her patients.
Dr. Kirstin Rasmussen likes to stay active in the dental community by volunteering, completing continuing education courses, and attending local study groups. She enjoys volunteering her time and skills abroad, having travelled to the Dominican Republic and Jamaica to serve those in great need of dental care. Dr. Kirstin Rasmussen is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Florida Dental Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cheering on her native Tampa sports teams (and of course the Florida Gators), and walking the family dog, Tanner.
