3 Healthy Snacks That Are Easy on Your Dentures

If you just got dentures, then you may be adjusting to how they fit and feel. Although dentures can perfect your smile; they can take a little bit of time to get used to. One of the ways that you can ensure that your dentures stay in place is to eat foods that aren’t difficult to chew. Even though some of your favorite snacks may be hard to chew like beef jerky or almonds, we have a few nacks that will be easier on your dentures. Let’s take a closer look.
String cheese or cheese sticks aren’t just low in fat, but they are high in protein as well, which is excellent for your body and your blood sugar. Not only that but cheese is soft and comfortable to chew, which makes it the perfect snack for denture wearers everywhere!
You don’t’ have to give up on popcorn if it’s one of your favorite snacks but try to steer clear of popcorn that isn’t fully popped. If popcorn has a lot of kernels in it, it can get stuck underneath your dentures an make them uncomfortable. Either make sure that you fully pop your popcorn or buy pre-popped popcorn from the store.
Chewing on raw carrots and celery may not be the most comfortable thing when you wear dentures, but veggies still make an excellent snack. Rather than eating raw vegetables, try steaming some of your favorite ones at the beginning of the week and then separate them into small containers. By having them already prepared for you ahead of time, it will make them a lot easier to munch on and enjoy. When vegetables are slightly steamed, it makes them easier to chew, but they still have a little bit of crispness about them.
