Is Age A Contraindication For Dental Implants?
Dr. Rasmussen explains why implants are a great option at any age!
I tell my patients that they can be a dental implant candidate at any age. Actually, age is not a deterrent for dental implants. If you can undergo a basic, routine dental procedure, then you are a candidate for dental implants. Dental implants are the best tooth replacement option we have for our patients who suffer from one or more missing teeth, so dental implants are a wonderful way to restore your smile and regain your confidence, regardless of your age. I’ve had patients in my office have implants placed in their 80s, and I have patients with implants today that are well into their 90s, and their quality of life is great because of that.
The impact the implants have on a patient’s quality of life is amazing. Some of them had stopped being social and now they’re out socializing. They can go to the restaurants and eat the foods that they want, and they’re just healthier overall.
