What Is Juvederm?
Juvederm refers to a family of injectable fillers that have proven to be highly effective at restoring the look of youth to those who receive it. This look is achieved by restoring lost volume and smoothing wrinkles and fine lines. The primary active ingredient in Juvederm is hyaluronic acid, a substance your body produces naturally but not produced at as high a level as you age. Hyaluronic acid is what gives your skin that healthy, supple look and promotes the production of collagen.
The Convenience of Juvederm
Juvederm produces immediate results unlike some other injectable neurotoxins, which can take anywhere from seven to ten days to prove effective. Most patients who elect to undergo the Juvederm treatment report that they tolerate it reasonably well due to Juvederm containing lidocaine, a mild anesthetic, that helps minimize discomfort. Once the treatment is complete, there can be some minor bruising and swelling at the injection sites, but this should fade quickly.
