Dental Implants a Restorative Option

For many of us, dental implant treatment for a missing tooth or teeth is a new concept, something we never imagined possible, In an age of medical break throughs and longer healthier living, it should not be surprising that we have a better solution to a lost tooth than cutting down adjacent teeth or wearing a denture or a partial. The results are both highly successful and predictable.
Treatment Steps are a follows:
The first step is to replace the tooth or teeth by placing titanium implants. The implants will remain covered by gum tissue for 4 to 6 months allowing osseointegration (bone bonding to titanium) to occur.
The second step of the procedure involves uncovering the implants and attaching extensions. This completes the foundation on which your tooth will be placed.
The Final Step is the placement of your tooth or teeth.
In the case of a single tooth a crown will be fabricated to fit your implant, just like on a natural tooth.
When there are multiple missing teeth a bridge will be fabricated and placed as if it were being attached to natural teeth.
If all the teeth are missing in the arch there are two options: A fixed bridge can be placed with the support of 5 or more implants. We need this many implants to provide the foundation of a fixed bridge typically housing 12 or 14 teeth. This bridge is fixed and only removable by the dentist.
The second option is when there are 4 or less implants to support the prosthesis. An attachment device will be affixed to the extensions of your implants (it may be a metal bar or a ball type of attachment) each situation being designed individually. This will provide the foundation and retention for a removable restoration called an Overdenture. You will be able to remove it daily for cleaning.
RESTORING SOMETHING IMPORTANT THAT’S BEEN LOST ESPECIALLY IN THE HUMAN BODY, IS AN EXCITING REALITY. LET US PROVIDE YOU WITH A RESTORATION THAT LOOKS AND FUNCTIONS LIKE NATURAL. TEETH
